Could i run avg anti virus and avast anti virus at the same time and if not why?

I would not try this. I did that once, and what a mess - I had to take my computer to the repair shop and they told me not to run two anti virus progrms at the same time. I now only use AVG Free.

I tried running two antivirus's at the same time.. It completely froze my computer. I had to do a total reformat.My advise is only run one antivirus.

You should only run one anti virus programme at a time as they interfere with each other if both run at the same time. If you are trying to save time you can set them to run at a time suitable to you ie when you are asleep.
You can not run two antivirus softwares on the same computer at the same time. Why? I am not sure.
you can have as many av progs on your pc as you want but only one can be running at any time because they cause conflicts. it is always best to have a second antivirus just to be sure you get all the dirty wee critters. if you want another av try this one http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/housecal...
