my serial number expired and i heard you can upgrade it and they send it to your email? do any one know how

Although Avast is very good, I have found the whole serial number process annoying as well. Have you tried AVG Anti Virus instead. They have a version that is free of charge, never expires, and the updates process is automatic. I have found that this program catches trojans and keyloggers better than Norton Anti Virus.

Right click on the Avast globe in the tray. Choose "About Avast". From the dialog that appears, press the button "License key".

A new dialog appears with a link to "Program registration". Click that, and it will open the Avast registration site in your browser. Choose "I'm a registered user and my registration key has expired, I need a new one".
