I have AVG 7.5 (free) and Avast! (I don't know version) is it bad to have these two on my windows vista PC?computer protection
honestly its kind of redundant to have two antivirus programs and they will also slow down your computer. i use avast and it seems to work well. it should be fine as long as you dont notice a slowdown in your computer's performance.
(Vista already uses alot of resources)

You should always keep only one anti virus on ur system. If you keep both of them, some where down the road it might give u serious problems. I prefer AVG personally, I have been using it for a long time without any problems
It is fine to have both. I have around 3 anti-virus scanners. The more you have the less of a chance for a virus but more does mean slower computers.
I don't have any experence with those two but I know that, in general, having 2+ anti-virus programs on a computer will result in major speed issues as they both fight for the same resources or even start concidering eachother to be hostle programs.
it is very bad to have to virus protection on your computer, it can cause conflict and make it very hard to detect and even remove virus's. You are only to have one virus protection program. You can have as many spyware protection program you want, but only one virus program.
no it is okay
It is not a good idea to have two antivirus programs running on the same computer , you will have problems . I have used Avast for years and have had no problems with Viruses. You should run more than one spyware blockers such as Spysweeper,SpywareBlaster, AdAware Se 2007,Threatfire
Well, in my opinion, 2 antivirus programs = overkill....
specially if both software's "Resident Shield" is turned on (activated)....
I know that Avast can detect some virus that AVG can't and vice versa... you would be wasting a lot of memory/harddisk access/interrupts/cpu cycles doing mostly redundant file scanning....
Just use which one you are more comfortable in, and update it frequently...
