Are these the best free antiviral programs available? How are they funded and how could they possibly compete with the subscription services? Would you feel perfectly safe if your computer was protected with a free program?
Are the free antiviral programs AVG and avast as good as McAfee and Norton Antivirus.?downloads
AVG and avast are a decent antivirus. AVG is only an "antivirus" compared to its paid version which is an antivirus, antispyware and antirootkit at the sametime. This also goes to most free antivirus programs. A good open source antivirus is moon secure. It is developed through donations and a community willing to help improve the program.
If you have a good combination of free security programs then you would be well secured. A combination of these programs would even rival some of the paid securities out there. Here are just a couple of suggestions:
antivirus: avira antivir personal or moon secure antivirus
antispyware: spywareblaster with threatfire free or spybot SD
firewall: comodo pro, online armor free or kerio 4.
