Something called m00 appeared on my desktop. My avast anti virus is not picking it up.?

When I try to delete it frm my desktop it tells me it cant be deleted as another person or program is using it please help what do I do now?

did you download something that didn't complete? Most viruses wouldn't put themselves front and center like that on your desktop where anyone would notice. So just do restart and delete, it should then go away.

Sometimes antivirus programs can not cope with some type of viruses especially if you have not updated your program . Even you update regularly there will be viruses which can not be deleted by your anti-virus .You should manually delete it . I do not use avast but programs show which folder includes virus so if you can find the pathway of the virus and find it s location on your PC you can manually delete it . I d advise you to install another better antivirus but there is a virus on your system and installing a new anti will cause problems probably . The best way is to remove it manually . Take care . And a last thing do not accept files while using messenger programs from people you do not know or you can not trust . Sometimes archive folders include virus but programs can not detect it unless it is decompressed . When it is decompressed virus is active so it may become impossible to delete or quarantine it . SO be careful about archive folders you download from the net.
