avast is very simple to use and gives great protection angainst viruses. Also its free and its not intrusive unlike norton or mccafee

Kaspersky is absolutely the best antivirus around. I have been using it for a couple years now and have to say I am impressed. I have not had one spy ware, virus, trojan or hidden process since I installed it.

It's worth the money (if you pay for it).
I use AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. It is always good to have a mixture of programs because while none are perfect, you can keep your system clean with a few. The ones I use are all free.
