You should be able to right click on the icon thats located in the system tray (far right side of bottom taskbar) and select quit or shutdown. However, I have installed sotware with my antivirus running and haven't had any problems

Go to shutdown on your anti virus. i dont have your anti virus but try closing it or exiting it out of the tray menu
just install! no prob with avast
