i think i have a virus. i open my i.e. and almost immediately a bunch of others open in seperate windows like someone else is doing it. i have avast, spybot, and windows defender running all the time but it doesnt help. what can i do to get rid of this problem?

Your PC is infected with a browser hijacker. Use this to remove it free. It does a lot deeper scan than most and its safe to use.
